Vetmedix Case Sharing丨Application Case of High-Energy Laser Therapy in Treating Skin Ulceration

2025-07-18

Introduction

In the daily lives of pets, the incidence of skin ulceration cannot be overlooked. Improper handling can easily lead to severe skin infections and complications, significantly impairing the pet's quality of life and health. High-energy laser therapy, as a novel physical treatment method, has been widely applied in veterinary medicine in recent years. Through high-energy-density laser irradiation, it promotes tissue repair, alleviates pain, and improves blood circulation.

This report documents the clinical application of the VETMEDIX veterinary laser device in treating skin ulceration in cats, demonstrating how high-energy laser therapy brings comfort to pets.

05 Case Summary

Short-Term Recovery:

After five sessions of high-energy laser therapy, granulation tissue began to grow in Pi Dan’s ulcerated wound, and the wound area shrank by approximately 30%. The redness and swelling around the wound significantly subsided, and the skin temperature and color gradually returned to normal. Behaviorally, Pi Dan became more active, freely running and playing at home, no longer showing signs of anxiety or discomfort due to wound pain.

Long-Term Follow-Up:

During post-treatment follow-ups, the ulcerated wound had nearly closed, leaving only a faint scar. The newly regenerated skin was smooth and even, blending seamlessly with the surrounding healthy skin without noticeable unevenness or roughness. Overall, the healing of Pi Dan’s skin ulceration achieved an extremely ideal outcome, demonstrating the significant advantages of high-energy laser therapy.

Conclusion

In this case, Vetmedix high-energy laser therapy precisely targeted the wound tissue, stimulating key processes of cell repair and regeneration. It effectively avoided the drawbacks of traditional treatments, such as slow wound healing, scarring, and susceptibility to infection and recurrence. This greatly reduced the pain experienced by the pet during the healing process and significantly improved the treatment quality and prognosis of skin ulceration.
